Annalisa M Heppner (Lindskog)
I am Annalisa M Heppner (Lindskog). I live in La Ronge SK with my husband and two children. I am creative, a painter, a lover of nature. My family being settlers in the region, ran a fishing outfitter camp for many years. I am fortunate to have lived in the Treaty Six area for much of my life, raised out at Nemeiben Lake and in the community of La Ronge off and on until I was 18.
I spent time in Calgary, AB working towards my Fine Arts Degree, majoring in Drawing at the Alberta College of Art & Design. I moved back when I was 21…the pull of the north, its surroundings, rich culture and my family ties all equal reasons. Life has been kind to me here, and it is my design to showcase some of the best our area has to offer. Nature of course. My favourite memories & moments are at the lake, spending time in the water & forest. Being able to quietly take in everything they have to offer which is so often reflected in my pieces.
I am grateful to have been invited to partake in the Healthy Dogs, Healthy Communities project alongside so many talented locals. With many meaningful subjects to delve into, I kept it close to my heart. My sister’s dog. Evee is a Northern Animal Rescue original. She has been in our lives since 2009. She is the best girl, calm, patient, charmingly awkward, always up for treats…seriously she will stare into your soul until you give it up. I have titled my piece “Her favourite things”, Evee surrounded by local flora that represent her…and as a whole – represent the love medicine she gives to her people unconditionally.
I hope you enjoy my tribute to this very good dog.
