Myles Charles

A Cree born in 1938, a Lac La Ronge Indian Band member.

Early Schooling P.A. Residential School. Age 7 to 12 hospitalized for TB in the hip, had hip and left leg problems throughout life. To pass time in hospital began sketching comic book cartoons. Appealing to sense of humour and view of the world. In 1964 to 1968 attended Fine Arts at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (then SAIT) in Calgary.

Hired as a graphic artist with the provincial government in La Ronge, first with Saskatchewan Education then with Saskatchewan Post Secondary Education and Skills Training. Work included drawing illustrations for books, brochures, posters, curriculum guides, training manuals and displays. Also designed logos and publicity materials for other agencies
